Bikini wax
can be an unpleasant experience. However, I came across this wise quote from a
magazine that said it well, “If you want to sell the house, you’ve got to
mow the lawn.” Before I can get any interested buyer, or before an
interested buyer come along, I needed to be ready than be sorry. So, whether
you have made an appointment or not, read on the tips below to have a more
pleasant bikini wax experience.
Tip No. 1 : Start Off
Slowly
If you are
attempting bikini wax for the first time, go with a basic bikini wax. It is not
as effective as Brazilian but it will be less painful. You can always decide to
remove more next time.
Tip No. 2 : Plan to do
bikini wax after your period
Women’s
pain threshold is higher in the week after their period than before. A woman is
normally more sensitive physically and emotionally before the period. Imagine
how sad movie make you cry easily when you are in your pre-menstrual period.
Having wax applied to your dainty bits will certainly bring the same results.
Tip No.3 : Anxiety Control
Yes, a
stranger will see you wearing nothing or at most, a thong. You don’t have to
feel embarrassed. It is nothing she has not seen before. In fact, it is something she sees many times a
day to the extent that she has no feeling in what she sees. The less anxious
you are, the less you will worry about pain. Think of how you normally control
your anxiety. Chug a vodka tonic, if necessary.
Tip No. 4 : Exfoliate
before the session
On the day
before you decide to go for bikini wax session, exfoliate in the shower. This
will remove the dead skin, allowing the wax to grip shorter hairs, hence less
painful.
Tip No. 5 : Know which
parts are most sensitive
Be prepared
and know that having the hair pulled from the lower abdomen area is more
painful than the area surrounding vagina opening.
Tip No. 6 : Take Pain- Killer
About an
hour before your bikini wax appointment, take a painkiller such as Tylenol,
Paracetamol, Panadol or any other pain reliever. This will reduce the pain
during the waxing session.
Tip No. 7 : Speak Up
A good
esthetician will work with you to make sure that you are comfortable and ready.
You can ask her to let you know before she is about to pull the wax off. Don’t
be shy to speak up if you have a low pain tolerance. It is better to speak up
than to suffer in silence.
Tip no. 8 : Use Hard Wax
Hard wax is
less painful than soft wax. So, I recommend going to a spa that uses it.
Tip No. 9 : Breathe
Breathing
in and out reduces the pain. Take a deep breath in when the wax goes on, and
then breathe out when your esthetician gives it a pull.
Tip No. 10 : Turn your
head and cough
Here is
good trick I picked up from experience: When the waxed is about to be pulled
off, cough. It distracts you from the pain. Trust me, it works!
How much can I remove ?
Normally,
an esthetician will ask you whether you want to remove all your hair, or prefer a
landing strip or a small triangle.
·
Full Brazilian or the Sphinx—a full waxing, leaving
no hair at all.
·
French wax—waxing with a "landing
strip". Labia are cleared.
·
American wax—hair limited to the bikini area, also
trimmed shorter.
The Experience
If you
scout for a good and experienced esthetician, it may not be as bad as you
think. If you get your eyebrows waxed, you can probably withstand the pain of a
Brazilian. If you are remotely curious, just go for it. However, do some
homework and choose a spa that is more reputable so that you are not crouching
down on all fours behind some thin shower curtain in a lonely dark back room.
The Results
If you
enjoy the results of manicure, a facial, or a massage, then you will feel good
after giving this area a little care and love. Some quoted as having her first
orgasm after getting a Brazilian. Is it a myth or truth, I will let you find out
yourself.
